Em Johnson is a Los Angeles based screenwriter and director. Her work has been screened and recognized globally. Most notably, her feature film, Balloon Animal, premiered at MANIFF before getting picked up Buffalo8 for distribution. The film has been featured on Deadline, Entertainment Weekly, and Cherry Picks and is available on Amazon Prime, VUDU, and select cable networks.
In 2020, Em and her creative partner, Katherine Waddell, founded a female-owned and focused film production company that was covered in The Hollywood Reporter. The company is currently in development on multiple projects, all of which are listed on the website.
